I am an Assistant Professor at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), in the School of Film and Animation (SOFA). I am also a game developer and animated short filmmaker. I’ve been teaching at RIT since 2013. Prior to joining SOFA, I served as a Senior Lecturer in RIT’s School of Interactive Games and Media (IGM).
This website documents the creative and scholarly work I’ve produced as an Assistant Professor on my path toward tenure; this includes at the national/international level presenting or writing papers for 6 conferences, exhibiting my work at 3 additional conferences and expos, writing a textbook (soon to be published by Bloomsbury Academic Press), and working on three published video games. I’ve also done a plethora of scholarship at the regional and local levels, giving presentations, leading workshops, and participating in exhibitions. A full list of my scholarly activities can be found on the Scholarship page.
My complete academic and professional record is available on my CV, and my ArtStation portfolio showcases work I created before becoming an Assistant Professor.
I’ve taught over a thousand students during my time at RIT. Many of them have gone on to work at major studios, including Blizzard, Epic, Rockstar, Velan, Sony, Unity, Activision, and Amazon Games, among many others.
In addition to teaching, I have over fifteen years of game development experience, having worked on eighteen shipped game titles for companies such as Activision, EA, Valve, Hi-Rez, Velan, and Workinman. My most recent shipped title is That Damn Goat, published by MAGIC Spell Studios.
